N.I.C Electrics have been trading for 10 years and in that time we have carried out hundreds of rewires. Over the years we have built up a good skill and knowledge base enabling us to carry out a house rewire that meets all the current regulations to ensure your property and the people within the property are safe from fires and electric shocks caused by unsafe electrics.
When we undertake to carry out a full house rewire we try to be as sympathetic to your property as possible. We use tools with all the most up to date dust extraction and we use digital spirit levels to ensure all the sockets and switches we install are level and all at the correct height.
We especially take great care when working on properties with period features making all efforts with our cable runs not to disturb cornices, dado rails and fire places etc.
It very important that a fully qualified electrician is employed to carry out electrical work in your property to ensure that your property gets a safe electrical installation to the high standard that is expected and legally required.
It is our policy and very important that when carrying out any electrical work that we have a good channel of communication between ourselves and the home owner from the initial meeting to the end of the work. This ensures that there are no hidden surprises.
A house rewire is required for a number of safety reasons such as house fires, escape of electricity causing a potential electric shock. Modern rewires that are carried out and installed by a fully qualified electrician would include installation of all the latest modern safety devices such as a full RCD protected consumer unit, fire rated lighting, correct cable and fuse sizes.
If you are unsure if you need a rewire some of the tell-tale signs will be old style rubber cabling, an old style electrical fuse board (which should be replaced by a modern consumer unit).
The fittings in your house can also indicate the age of the installation such as old light switches and old style light fittings.
In some instances a partial rewire is required. This is when just one or more of your circuits do not meet the regulations or perhaps has been damaged and needs replacing.
It is hard to quote for a rewire without carrying out a full survey on the property and having the specification of the customer but as a rough guide to work to we would advise you that approximately £1,000 per bedroom is a rough figure to work to.
When the rewire has been completed we test and inspect the new installation vigorously before we hand over the property back to the customer. We complete a full safety installation certificate with all the results and readings taken with our fully calibrated testing equipment ensuring an accurate insulation certificate.
This is registered with the local building report and the NICEIC giving peace of mind for the customer and ensuring we have fully complied with the wiring regulations.
We issue an electrical certificate at the end of each and every job, this is not only a mark of our quality workmanship, it is also an assurance for our customers of the professional job our house rewire installers have completed but serves as a reminder of the warranty agreement that accompanies everything we do.
